Future of Artificial Intelligence

The working and the use of Artificial Intelligence in future

Artificial intelligence is a system that has made leaps in past few decades. The technological progress, which took place at last few years made AI an important part of our lives. We are making advancements in computers these days where it helps us to get information from other sources and gives information without any human intervention. But along with this advancement came some challenges. These problems were not easy to solve. Along with this, there is also another side of problems. Some of them are known as “Robots” or artificial robots that exist in today’s world. Now, you might have noticed one of such robotics on Netflix show, How I Met Your Mother? It is called Replicant. This robot exists mainly for entertainment purpose and in most cases plays games. So these problems are not new to humanity. People who developed these robots had faced various kinds of problems. They used these robots for the military and police duties and have been considered more reliable than humans. That was until now, the next frontier is about how we would utilize these robots in everyday life. We will discuss the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in different sectors and how they will impact people and their jobs in future.

Nowadays, many companies are investing into research and development in this field. As a result, we can witness that this technology gets more advanced every day. One such example is Google DeepMind that has created systems named AlphaGo that defeated Lee Sedol in Go games and won $200 million prize at the end of that season. Another great demonstration of Artificial Intelligence could be seen when Microsoft announced that its computer program will be able to generate sentences by itself, just like Siri did to Apple’s voice assistant. This project was successful and became very popular among the developers and researchers.

What will happen when machines become smarter?

In 2018, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla said that we will no longer need a driver and that he will give up driving cars. There are already several self-driving cars on roads, and soon we expect them to have fully-electric autonomous driving systems and even be able to fly passengers on them.

How do I know what is going to happen?

I was thinking about becoming a developer for Uber. After all, I am involved with software development myself, so I feel that I am equipped enough to help. Yet, before giving up driving cars, I felt that people will start asking me whether I will quit my job and become an Uber driver in order to earn money. And then that question came to mind, where will I go to work? If I can afford paying rent, I will have to find a suitable building and find the best area for parking. But what if the area is huge and expensive. Then what if I cannot afford it? Maybe I will have to leave it and try living elsewhere? What if I don’t want to? Will the rental agency still take care of me or I will need to pay again? All these questions bothered me and I tried searching online and asked my friends about their experience when they were working for Airbnb. Many shared similar experiences and pointed out that renting a room was easy, but finding a decent place was much harder. For instance, Airbnb let their guests stay there for free, but once they got in, it was hard to know where will they stay, especially if you spent a long time there.

My friend Anees, who works with startups said that she moved here because her landlord gave him permission to move into his home. However, due to lack of housing problem he doesn’t have a chance of getting a second house. He told me that it is better to go back to where I come from and live a normal life. It was only after moving back home that he understood it wasn’t easy to find a good space within the city’s cost range. His solution was renting a apartment in New York City instead of staying in Airbnb hostels where they charge exorbitant prices. According to him, it is much easier to manage your bills, get loans, and get support for businesses if you choose NYC over any other city that you choose. In addition, Anees also mentioned a company called Open Space that offered apartments in cheaper localities. This company helped thousands of travelers to get a place close to their destination. Even though those places are far away from each other and may not exactly fit in your budget, you still get all essential utilities, public transport access, etc. They offer amenities like gym, swimming pool, terrace etc. At first, Anees was scared of this kind of accommodation.

But since I took the plunge, I knew that renting a room or a house was the only option I could think of in the moment. Also, Anees mentioned that Airbnb doesn’t have any specific rules for guests. You can find spaces in almost any niche as per your requirement. No matter your preference. Just follow a simple step of booking your space and check-in/out. By doing so, Airbnb makes sure that both the hosts and guest understand each other’s need for the space.

Anees also talked about H&M, whose policy is quite strict. They don’t allow sharing or renting multiple rooms. To prevent overcrowding, only one person should share the same room with another guest, unless otherwise. Apart from that, Anees mentioned that while booking the room via Facebook, two things must be kept in mind. First, the host must have a stable income to cover expenses related to lodging. Second, the guest should not spend too much time in front of Airbnb cameras.

Why will it be difficult to replace me?

For me, Anees was right when he stated there is something missing in hospitality industry, particularly in the US. Yes, it is true. During my internship, I got to learn that hospitality is tough business where you must deliver excellent service at a high cost and not compromise your quality of the services that you are offering. I also learned that customers do not really trust anyone except Airbnb guests. Moreover, despite the fact that there are millions of social media influencers, they rarely post photos of themselves with strangers. Instead, they post pictures that reveal their personal details. On top of everything, a lot of hotels charge fees on bookings that are usually higher than the standard rates charged by airlines. Besides, if someone wants to travel to India or Australia, he or she has to pay extra fees to hotel chains or tour operators.

If you ask me why hiring talent from anywhere is impossible, I will say that the problem lies in how global organizations and brands perceive people. Most of the times, the way the brand presents themselves in front of the public affects their perception. When someone is hired or promoted according to the demands of clients, employers feel like they are under pressure. However, employees feel disconnected from their employer and don’t recognize his or her contribution. Therefore, if you are looking forward to hire people around the globe, here are three possible ways you can expand your target audience.

One way is through targeted marketing campaigns. Through these campaigns, you can target certain age groups through advertisements that are specifically designed for them. Such adverts tend to appear in search engines like google search or the big tech giants. Since you don’t need to spend lots of resources on creating such ads; you can set up filters easily. Once you create the filter that only allows ads that are based on particular demographics, only relevant ads will show up. Next, you can also build custom audiences to reach specific consumers. Using segmentation or targeting options, you can create segments based on geographic location, demographic information, interests, behaviors, etc. Creating customized web pages with ads for these audiences is definitely worth considering. Lastly, you can also leverage email marketing tools to increase conversions and improve customer relationships. Don’t forget to collect email addresses (preferably those directly linked to the website) and integrate emails with CRM software to send notifications for promotions or updates. Having a strategy for growing your list is vital for establishing credibility in sales leads.

Finally, you can also consider video marketing. Videos become popular among millennials, and their engagement rate is highest in comparison to other promotional methods. Video ads can be incorporated with mobile apps or websites for real-time interaction. Also, videos can be optimized for SEO to rank on page 1, 2, 3 in SERPs. Thus, you can attract the attention of users who are interested on specific topics. Plus, this method provides greater exposure than traditional advertising and reaches new audiences who don’t visit websites or scroll down on news feed. It is crucial to incorporate video content with digital campaigns, especially social media platforms.

Conclusion

There are numerous industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, fashion, telecommunications, energy, education, government, transportation, banking, retail, insurance, financial services, manufacturing companies, finance, automotive, construction, tourism, and telecommunication that can benefit from implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the near future. Let me reiterate that Artificial Intelligence has brought some improvements in society in different ways. Although we have seen negative consequences that arise, but this technology has also increased productivity, reduced costs, saved time, improved efficiency, enhanced data security, etc. But aside from that, new and innovative applications, advancements in data processing and analysis are being implemented. Last week, Amazon started testing an AI that can teach itself English by listening to hundreds of audio and reading thousands of books.

In the meantime, we have to keep in mind that Artificial Intelligence (AI) may eventually change the face of human existence. Only time can tell what kind of changes will occur or happen in this field. Until then, we will have hope that someday AI can truly help us. Stay tuned!
